unit; or as we refer to them: "MOAB's. People building Tent Topped Camping Trailers now have a new option to get a safe, comfortable nights sleep off the ground. A traveling bedroom that packs into a compact size with a fold-open design that makes setup a breeze. So, whenever you are away from home seeking adventures you'll have the freedom to set up anywhere you find that perfect spot. This isn't just another Roof Top Tent; it is an innovative, new twist on the folding style tent unit. A design optimized for Trailer Top usage which includes a standup changing room. There are a number of twists to our MOAB's. To begin; it is the only folding style tent unit manufactured in the USA. We didn't cut corners on cost. Only premium outfitter grade materials are used. The big twist is that it is designed as a DIY project. The tents come as a kit and you build the folding platform portion. The kit includes the Tent Body, Bows, Bow Hardware, Special Platform Hinges, and Travel Cover. On many trailers half of the tent platform is the top of your trailer box. Main tent body material: Premium grade, Sunforger treated, 10.1 oz Army Duck, 100% cotton canvas. Main tent body floor material: treated 9 oz vinyl-laminated polyester. Changing room material: High-grade, UV and CPAI-84 fire-retardant treated, 200D, 3/4 oz solvent-based urethane coated nylon oxford cloth. Screens: Heavy duty, CPAI-84 fire-retardant treated, tight mesh fiberglass throughout. Zipper: Quality YKK #10RC and #8CF nylon coils with nickel-plated sliders. Main tent body: 56” wide x 84” long 48” door end bow, 21” foot end bow. Changing room: 56” wide x 36” deep 74” entry door bow, 89” main tent bow (based on 44” trailer height). Fabric details: The performance and longevity of our M.O.A.B™ tent body begins with premium grade fabric. The main tent body is made from a 10.1 oz, 100% cotton, and Army duck canvas. You might be asking, where is the rain fly ?It doesn’t need one. This is an extremely water resistant fabric that remains cool and comfortable in hot humid conditions. It will not wick if touched when raining and is very good at keeping desert dust out which makes it popular at events like Burning Man. No rain fly also achieves a quieter nights sleep in windy conditions. A 100% cotton fabric is nearly unaffected by sun exposure and will outlast most synthetic fabrics many times over. They provide excellent tear-resistance and long-term durability. When other synthetic fabric expedition tents were getting shredded on a National Geographic Mt. Everest climb at their 21,000’ base camp, a cotton canvas Springbar tent survived 40 days of pounding without a problem. For the technically inclined, the fabric is a Sunforger boat-shrunk marine-finish duck. This canvas is a material made up of two yarns twisted together in a durable "one-up, one-down" construction. It has over 100 tough little double-fill threads per square inch, resulting in a very tight uniform weave that is naturally water resistant For extra insurance against water intrusion, the canvas is double-dipped in a Sunforger silicone treatment. You can't feel this treatment, it's integral to the fabric — not simply applied to the surface. This "dry-finish" treatment is extremely durable, lasting up to decades. It also makes the canvas mildew resistant. In summary - this is the only trailer top tent made in the USA and the only DIY project that will give you years of enjoyment! |
